* OBJECTS AS AMBASSADORS : Lecture by Matt Poll
For the past decade, Matt has worked as the Assistant Curator of Indigenous Heritage Collections at the Macleay Museum as well as being the University of Sydney Repatriation Project Officer.
In his personal reflection, Matt will explore the rewards and challenges of first nations community engagement in relation to the new exhibitions ‘Gululu djalkiri : welcome to the Jolgnu foundations’ and ‘Ambassadors’, both opening at the Chau Chak Wing Museum on 18 November this year.
Previously, Matt has worked as Artistic Director of the Boomalli Aboriginal Artist Cooperative, as well as filling community facilitation and engagement roles with the Museum of Contemporary Art and Wollongong City Gallery.
Matt’s curatorial work, publications and artwork facilitation celebrates the intersectional nature of his Loyalty Island (Lifou), Torres Strait Island and mixed European ancestries.
