Memberships

The Society's main focus is on Melanesian, Polynesian & Micronesian art; but not to the exclusion of tribal art from other areas, or the contemporary art of the indigenous people of Oceania and Australia.

Since its foundation in 1995, the OAS has been organising study groups, public lectures, film screenings, exhibitions with illustrated catalogues, workshops, previews of auctions and book launches. Join our 300+ members worldwide and enjoy five issues of the OAS Newsletter each year, and other membership privileges.

The aim of the Oceanic Art Society is to further the appreciation and understanding of Oceanic Art. The focus is on traditional tribal art including contemporary art of the indigenous people of Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia and Australasia.

The Society welcomes anyone with an interest in oceanic art. Our membership is international and includes enthusiasts, beginners, collectors, academics, artists, students, art dealers and museum professionals.
