In 2016, the Goroka Show celebrated its 60th anniversary. Natalie Wilson, curator of Australian and Pacific Art at the Art Gallery of NSW, commemorated the event with her own thatch-roofed Haus Piksa (Cinema) inside the showground, and screened a film documenting the Show’s history from 1956 until 1972, with historical photographs and films from private and public collections.
Natalie will screen segments of the film and discuss the difficulties and positive outcomes in undertaking this project.
